Why a health diary could be the key to feeling your best this year

After spending last year feeling like my body was a hotel for every virus going around, I’ve decided to try doing something different: keeping a health diary. Here’s why this clever little strategy could be the key to coping with life's challenges this year. Want to give it a go too? Download the template below to get started.

Over the last couple of years, I’ve been bouncing from one illness to the next. There was shingles and sinusitis, Covid and colds. I’d no sooner get better from one then I’d be pummelled by the next. I finished 2024 in heap in bed, sick as anything, and over being an Airbnb for viruses.

Those of you who have heard me share my burnout experience will know I’ve been fiercely determined to stay well since my burnout experience in 2020. I eat well, exercise regularly and do all of the things. And I’m a huge fan of mental health help.

So this back-to-back sickness business has been somewhat... disappointing. A D minus experience, if you will.

Like most of us, the past few years have been far from plain sailing. Alongside the rocky economic climate, I’ve also been navigating a few challenges on the home front, like a divorce and all of the instability that goes with that.

I have no doubt that the roaring stress of the past few years has played a key role in my ability to get sick at the drop of a hat.

Come 2025, I’ve decided it is time to do something different.
