ROW | WEBINAR - Smashing the myth: Why compassion isn’t fluffy and people leaders need it now

EVENT TIME: 9am - 10am (GMT/based on the time in London), 5 November 2024 - please note this is the correct time as regional daylight savings may impact the time shown on the events panel)

Compassion is often thought of as fluffy and soft but it’s actually one of the most powerful tools in a people leader’s toolkit. Research shows compassion can create a foundation for psychological safety, trust, and real inclusion, which is vital, especially when stress and burnout are becoming the norm.

And compassion isn’t just about being kind and offering hugs left, right and centre - it’s about driving better business outcomes. Compassionate leadership leads to higher engagement, lower turnover, and more sustainable performance.

In this webinar, we're joined by UK clinical psychologists Dr. Anna Weller and Dr. Katy Stevens from Three Minds Psychology to take a deep dive into the topic. We’ll explore the role of compassion, find out how you can embed compassion into your leadership style (or support leaders to), and discover why it’s not just a nice-to-have, but a critical skill in today’s complex work environment.

Our guests: Dr Anna Weller and Dr Katy Stevens

Katy and Anna are Highly Specialist Clinical Psychologists with over 2 decades of combined experience working in statutory and private sectors in both clinical and leadership roles. Both have specialised in working with people who have experienced trauma and, through this experience, have gained valuable insight into how the human brain functions under states of threat.

Through their clinical work, Anna and Katy have seen the immense benefits of using compassion to support people to gain insight into the workings of the tricky human brain, to bring balance and regulation at times of emotional distress, and to turn towards the challenges they face with courage.

Katy and Anna now bring this knowledge to the workplace arena; helping us to understand how easily our minds are triggered to feel uncomfortable threat-based emotions at work.

They develop meaningful interventions that target organisational wellbeing at both the individual and systemic levels - applying principles of compassion to support individuals to access states of calm to support them to function as the best version themselves while creating cultural shifts that foster psychological safeness and trust.
